I Don’t Play Favorites #socs

The prompt for this week is “your favourite word,” or as we say in the United States, “your favorite word.”

Seriously, though, Linda wants us to pick our favorite word out of all the words we know for this exercise, and I just can’t do it. I mean, I like certain words better than others, but I’ve never really thought about which is my favorite. After 62 years, you’ve built quite a vocabulary. Mine is probably 10,000 words, and I’m not even trying. Those of you who read more than I do (that would be most of you) probably have an even bigger vocabulary, maybe 20-30,000 words. I mean, how do you pick a favorite? I’m sure that some of you have a favorite word, and if you do, great. Mazel tov! I haven’t chosen one.

I like the way this man picks his favorite words. He breaks them down into “woody” and “tinny” words, with the former preferable to the latter.

Geez, is the rain coming down here…

Stream of Consciousness Saturday is brought to you each week by Linda Hill and this station. Now a word about the Renault Dauphine. Made in France to make driving fun again!

    1. There are so many great Monty Python sketches. My personal favorites are Arthur “Two Sheds” Jackson, Confuse-A-Cat, the naughty chemist, Bicycle Repairman (especially the rant John Cleese goes on as the announcer at the end)… Maybe I should just say “all of it” and be done with it. Have you seen Fawlty Towers? That’s a classic.

  2. Favorite word? I’m with you on this. It might be influenced by when I’m thinking about this question, where I am, who I’m with, and my state of mind. Even then I might come up with some random word, but it really won’t be my absolute favorite.

  3. I agree with you, John. It was hard to pick out just one word, so I ended up with eight. Except I missed a few favorite words like coffee and sleep. The list is endless.

  4. I hate it when a song kills me. LOL She was probably worn out from the bucket incident, and now she’s GOOOOOONE. šŸ˜€
I don’t know what my vocab is, but I’ll agree to tinny and woody quite a bit, and I, too, can say words that make certain people leave the room šŸ˜‰

    1. Funny thing, the rain seems like it’s been going around us, except for last Friday. I mean, we’ve gotten rain, just not all that much, particularly when compared to what they’ve been saying we’re going to get. Most of the rain in the last two weeks was tied in with that tropical storm that just broke up. Now, I think we’re getting into the summer pattern of hot and humid during the day with a thunderstorm in the early evening. Summer in the South… gotta love it…
