#1LinerWeds from Jordan Peterson

It’s an interesting thought and a reminder that as much as we need educated people, we also need skilled ones.

  1. I like this quote. It rings true with me. My dad was a doctor whose best friend was a plumber. They were a duo, determined to help in whatever way they could.

  2. This is great timing. I just called the plumber for my leaking toilet wondering if I will have to cancel my eye doctor appointment this afternoon.

  3. Don’t even get me started about the education system these days which tries to push EVERYONE into college and took away all those NECESSARY courses like home ec, wood shop and auto shop.

    1. The reason the infrastructure in this country is in such sorry shape is because all the guys that have the skills and/or desire to work on bridges, roads, in sewers and on cherry-pickers are sitting in college classrooms trying to get an education they could care less about. Who’s going to replace the mechanics, electricians, plumbers, cooks, truck drivers, welders, millwrights etc. etc. that are retiring? Those are good, honest trades that pay well and are always in demand.

  4. You just reminded me — I’m supposed to call the plumber. Because as educated as I might be I sure as heck can’t fix what’s wrong with the water system!
